We are excited to begin a Youth Sporting Clay Tournament Series. We noticed how quickly youth began to love shooting while hosting the Sportsman’s Challenge at our Refuge Hunting Camps. Whether a youth had experience shooting or not they instantly loved shooting sporting clays. After realizing that there were very few options for youth to enjoy sporting clays we decided to step in.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Organization: Shooters will be divided into their respective divisions and will then be placed into either 3 or 4 person squads
Shooter Divisions:
– Senior Division (10th – 12th grade)
– Junior Varsity Division (7th – 9th grade)*
– Rookie Division (6th grade and under)**
*Junior Varsity squads will require at least one adult 18yrs or older to supervise the squad while on the course
** Rookie squads will require an adult 18yrs or older for each shooter on the squad while on the course
Format and Cost for Qualifying Shoots:
– Each shooter will shoot 50 birds per round between 6-8 stations
– Cost is $35 per round for qualifying shoots
– Shooters can use standard gauge shotguns with only 2 rounds being loaded at a time
Format and Cost for Championship Round:
– Each shooter will shoot 75 birds between 8-10 stations
– Cost is $50 for the championship round
– Shooters must shoot in at least one qualifying shoot in order to be eligible to shoot in the championship round
– Shooters can use standard gauge shotguns with only 2 rounds being loaded at a time
Registration – Safety Meeting – Devotional:
– We ask that you preregister for the shoot but walk up registration will be available
– ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR SHOOTS IS HERE
– Check in and registration will begin at the range an hour before starting time
– We will have a mandatory safety meeting for all shooters 30 min before starting time
– We will have someone share a devotional before the safety meeting begins
Transportation on the range:
– It is recommended but not necessary for shooters to have a golf cart or side by side on the course
– Anyone driving a golf cart or side by side must be at least 16 years old and have a valid drivers license
